Visco Foam and its effects on the human body
Many people find themselves waking up from tossing and turning, because their body aches so much during sleep. If this is you, it may be time to give your bed the old heave ho and try something new. I am referring to beds that contained a visco foam, or viscoelastic foam that will give you the best way possible.
Visco foam was developed by NASA, an attempt to decrease pressure caused by the extreme G. force astronauts received during takeoff in space shuttles. After developing Visco foam, NASA never even used it in the space program. However this left a disco foam to be used by many other markets such as, medical fields and retail mattress manufacturers.
Mattress manufacturers jump all over viso foam because of its ability to elevate pressure points while sleeping. The main problem when mattress company started using viscoelastic foam, was its extremely high price. The general public could not readily afford to pay for mattresses that use viscoelastic foam. However in recent years it has become less expensive to produce and now is widely available in almost everyone’s price range.
The most common use of visco foam is in mattresses and pillows, and mattress topper’s. It’s the retaining abilities make it able to help some pain sufferers to reduce the feelings of pain they feel because of the added warmth while sleeping. A visco foam mattress tends to be denser than an ordinary foam mattress making it more supportive, but a lot heavier.
Although mattresses containing visco elastic foam or nice, it is good to keep in mind that they are more expensive than a traditional mattress. But because of their awesome qualities they tend to outlast a normal mattress. Visco foam is made from polyurethane with added chemicals that help to increase its density and viscosity levels. Due to all the chemicals that they use when making viscoelastic foam, a new foam mattress will give off a distinct chemical odor that will only decrease over time.
